Tür Say 2024

The Nature Conservation Center  of Türkiye (DKM), celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, is organizing the 6th Tür Say event in collaboration with the Middle East Technical University Ecosystem Implementation and Research Center (EKOSAM) on Sunday, May 26, 2024, on the Middle East Technical University Campus.

The event, which will celebrate World Biological Diversity Day, is being organized in memory of Tansu Gürpınar, a pioneer of nature conservation in our country who passed away in 2023.

During the Tür Say event, participants will observe nature and take photographs of species such as plants, birds, and butterflies, which they will then share first with experts and then with everyone. In this way, while many species are identified within the scope of citizen science, enjoyable time will be spent in nature.

Participants will meet at the registration desk to be set up in front of ODTÜ Çarşı, accompanied by experts and nature guides for the event. The event, which will start at 10:00, will end at 18:00.

Tür Say aims to increase public interest in biological diversity and is an 8-hour marathon. Tür Say (also known as Bioblitz) is implemented as a citizen science activity in many countries, especially in the United States and the United Kingdom, to increase society's interest in nature. Participants in this event, open to everyone interested, identify the organisms they observe in nature with the help of experts.

Please fill out the form to participate.
