Ponds and Pond Networks National Dialogue and Working Group
In collaboration with METU EKOSAM and the Nature-Based Solutions Association, two webinars and a national workshop will be held as part of the “Ponds and Pond Networks as Nature-Based Solutions – National Dialogue and Working Group.”
The program will address a range of topics, from the structure, functions, and ecosystem services of pond ecosystems to climate adaptation, biodiversity, and water management. It aims to strengthen the exchange of knowledge and experience, foster collaboration among stakeholders, and promote joint solution-development processes for the conservation and sustainable management of ponds.
Following the webinars to be delivered by Prof. Dr. Meryem Beklioğlu (METU EKOSAM) on 21 September 2026 and Lars Briggs (Amphi International ApS) on 28 September 2026, a National Workshop will be held on 7 October 2026 at the METU Ankara Campus.
We invite all interested stakeholders—including representatives from academia, public institutions, local authorities, civil society organizations, the private sector, and field practitioners—to participate in the program.
