A project led by Prof. Dr. Meryem Beklioğlu, a faculty member at the METU Department of Biological Sciences, has commenced. The project aims to investigate the multiple effects of salinity, warming, and eutrophication in lake ecosystems.

As part of the study, which is expected to last approximately 3 years, simultaneous experiments will be conducted in a mesocosm system established under the climatic conditions of Ankara (Semi-arid) and Mersin (Mediterranean).

The project aims to generate data on a national and international scale for lake management and restoration under changing climatic conditions, utilizing advanced monitoring methods such as FlowCAM technology.
