At Eymir Lake in Ankara, pike fish, which are under protection and prohibited from being fished, have begun to die due to pollution. Middle East Technical University (METU) has initiated a study to prevent further fish deaths. The goal is to reduce 75% of the carp population, which feed on bottom sediments, causing household waste to mix into the water and lowering oxygen levels, within one year.
